Chipper Training
Do you have workers that utilize brush and wood chippers for daily or occasional operations or need to prepare for disaster relief protocols? We offer 1 Day onsite training recognized by Ministry of Labour training requirements to ensure your workers are trained at the highest level. 1 Day Chipper Training
Introductory 1 day course
- ½ Day theory with equipment walk around assignment, ½ Day practical use
- Includes Training workbook, and certificate upon successful completion recognized by Ministry of Labour
- Reviewing OHSA, ANSI standards and relevant safety regulations
- Transport safety with proper vehicle hookup and inspections
- Breakdown of personal protective equipment utilization and selection
- Anatomy of a brush or wood chipper; Inspections of safety features and processing zones
- Understanding risk assessments for the protection of self and others and developing safe chipping plans
- Understanding limb hazards when chipping
- Utilizing release cuts with chainsaws to reduce risks and create proficiencies when chipping
- Daily and routine manufacturer maintenance schedules
- Reviewing manufacturers starting procedures and emergency shut downs
- Utilizing winches with loads if applicable
- Students will be evaluated with a practical Competency Assessment
- Students will be required to complete an online theory assessment within 48 hours with a minimum of 70% to receive a course completion certificate.
